How to stylishly incorporate glasses

Hey girls,
On Saturday, I got glasses! It was quite a transition for me. I incorporated the struggle of wearing sunglasses with glasses, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't a big disappointment for me. Now, wearing glasses is something I think about often, and I recently came up with the though of how to style glasses with an outfit, because believe it or not, it is pretty difficult. Many people think that it's not a big deal because it's such a small accessory that even you can't control, but in order to stylishly introduce them to the rest of your closet, a little bit of work has to be done.
Here are a few inspiration outfits featuring glasses for those that need help styling glasses:

Gigi Hadid!!

I hope these are some helpful styling tips on how to style glasses. Below is more help! I have a few tips that might help if you're more into recycling your closet to create a look for glasses:

THINGS TO TRY:
A-line miniskirts
Messy ponytails and buns
Bold lipstick with neutral eyeshadow
Stripes (thin or thick, vertical or horizontal)
Thick fabrics ( any knits, thick cotton, etc.)
Buttoned garments
Sneakers
Skinny jeans (in most washes)
Knee high or over the knee boots
Bold colors (burgundy, eggplant, etc.)
Graphic t shirts
Casual dresses (shirt dresses, belted dresses)
Black
Plaid scarves
Leather jackets
Collared shirts
And of course... boyfriend jeans. They work with almost everything.

Hope this gets some creative juices flowing. People say it's impossible to style glasses, but I just made it possible. All it takes is a closet of versatile clothes, some grit, and of course, the most important, fashion sense!

NYFW 16 ended

Hey girls,
I'm currently in a slump because NYFW ended a couple days ago (I'm too sad to even count). I will miss NYFW very much, but I already have September to look forward to! I have to accept that NYFW has come to a close, there's really no other way to say it. At least I can recount about my favorites.
During NYFW, a lot of stunning and wonderfully different looks came down a number of runways at a number of designer shows. And while I couldn't watch every single show, I did watch many. It was an exciting time for me because I got to see all the new collections from all my favorite designers. Not only did my favorite designers stun me with the amazing collections (every collection that I watched was incredible in its own way), but some new designers that I had never heard of captivated me with their collections. Below are some collections from both my favorite designers and my new favorite designers that really stood out to me:

Marchesa's collection was by far my favorite collection. It completely took my breath away. I felt an intense longing for every piece in the collection. Every thing was just so beautiful! I couldn't believe that such beautiful clothes existed in the world. The dresses were perfection; a divine mix of long and short hems in unbelievable levels of elegance and grace. A floral pattern was incorporated, and it upped the beauty factor in the dress. I also saw a flapper-like style, which seems like it wouldn't go with the theme, but it absolutely did. There was a lot of jewelry in the show as well, which I absolutely loved! I really thought it was an incredible choice to include jewelry with the looks on the runway. It was so, so pretty! I need every single piece. If you didn't watch this collection, please please watch it! It is so breathtaking, and you will instantly fall in love with the collection and the brand, just like I did.

Tommy Hilfiger, you did it once again! You created a perfectly amazing collection with a great theme. I think the nautical theme was totally inspired, and I love it so much. Of course, Gigi Hadid worked the runway in a stunning silk dress, and every other model looked fantastic in their equally amazing outfits from this splendid collection. I really liked the floral, nautical, and striped patterns. I felt like I was at a boating dock with stylish models at my side. The outerwear was totally fabulous as well, and I liked how shearling and two toned colors were used.

The collection was classic, creative, and it seems like it was created just for me. Every look was totally my style! I really liked how darker colors contrasted with bright greens, purples, and blues. The main color used was brown, and I've never seen brown used so nicely, and in a way I actually like nonetheless. The use of knits and brocades left me feeling totally inspired, and the extremely stylish outerwear was the (fashionable) bow on top of the gift from the designer Michael Kors. I was also drooling over the shoes. The shoes were so pretty and dainty, and they neatly wrapped up the entire outfit. (I'm using a lot of gift analogies, not sure why.) This was a great collection in so many ways, and I'm very glad that I saw it.

This collection was all about suiting. I saw various, inspiring versions of suits through the collection. One thing I really liked were the dark silks and leather mixed with the bright patterns, it created nice juxtaposition. On that note, I loved how leather was used in the collection. It was amazing! I saw blazers paired with wide-leg pants, a divine pairing. I also admired how the collection mainly stuck to one or two pairs of shoes; I thought that necessary in this collection. This designer brand staple did an excellent job once again.

I was riveted when I watched the Tory Burch collection. It was all about being preppy and put-together. Dark greens, crisp whites, and royal blues with pops of bold red were all used to form a collegiate appearance, which I really liked. Usually, I'm not into preppy attire, but this collection made me want to run out and buy every preppy piece of clothing ever made. I was so enamored with the argyle patterns (there were a lot), and I was totally infatuated with the knits, like the sweaters, and how (with argyle) they really pushed the collection farther into the collegiate category. The belts were divine, I love the colors and how they belt itself popped off of the outfit. There was leather and shearling too, some of my favorite materials, and instead of it giving another theme to the collection, it really fit in, yet it stood out. I also was excited to see the variety of outerwear, the patterns looked great on the various coats.

I saw a number of trends on the runway too, all of which I dream of incorporating into my wardrobe sometime soon:
Shearling
Patterns
Wide leg pants
Pops of color
Multi "tiered" dresses
Brocades
Miniskirts
Khaki green
Although I am sad that NYFW has ended, looking back on the amazing collections makes me happy, and if I pretend enough, it can still be NYFW! Kidding. I know that it's over, but I know that these designers and their ideas are far from done.

NYFW and who I'm excited to see

Hey girls,
I first want to say Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you had fun celebrating with the people you love, I know I did. Love was certainly in the air yesterday, that's for sure!
As you all know, New York Fashion Week started a few days ago (it officially starts today), and this is a time where all eager fashionistas celebrate after awaiting the arrival of spring, and even some fall, collections from their favorite designers. I am thrilled to see all the new collections from designers both new and old. There are some I will be watching for, however:

1. Rebecca Minkoff

This collection I have already seen (and LOVED), but I am encouraging you all to watch it if you haven't. It is divine! I have become enthralled with this brand ever since the last collection of light fabrics and prints. This time it is light, but there is a small mix of toughness involved with leather and suede jackets. If you haven't seen this collection, I'm right now telling you to please please watch it! You definitely won't be disappointed!

2. Marissa Webb

One reason why I am excited to see Marissa Webb is because the collection is just my style but it can step out of my comfort zone and I can still be fine with it, and this year is no exception. For example, in this collection, they played with mustard, which I would usually dismiss with a flip of my hand. Since this collection is totally my style, the trends shown might probably become the trends that I will adopt and love, so I regard the mustard hue not with disgust, but with a wary caution. I know I'm not going to embrace mustard immediately (much unlike this collection), but I will try, since it has been featured in a collection (rather stylish, I may add) that I feel comfortable with.

3. Yigal Azrouël

Yigal Azrouël is never one to disappoint in his collections. One thing I like about Yigal Azrouël collections is the need to do something different to wow the audience every time. This time the collection played with dark colors and brocades. The use of a trench coat was used, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it. The edges of he clothing were sharp and clean, and the overall look and feel was perfect! Congratulations on another great collection!

4. Prabal Gurung

Prabal Gurung did such an excellent job with this collection, as with the others. I love the use of knits and outerwear featuring bell sleeves and braid trimming on the lapel. The lovely use of prints on the dresses really showed the innocence he was trying to convey, yet adding edge with black in bold cuts and fabrics. The shoes did a great job of complementing the outfit but at the same time, they did not draw all the attention away from the outfit, a good balance in my opinion. I was dazzled at the use of fur and knits throughout the clothes. Once again, excellent job on this collection!

I really am looking forward to watching my favorites and some new designers, too. I think that all os these wonderful collections will all be outstanding in different ways, and it'll be exciting to see what designers did hat in their collections. I'll report on my favorites next week, and I know I will have many, many favorites. Happy NYFW!

Three ways to style

Hey girls,
There's a pair of boots that have been sitting in my room for a very long time, and I thought to pull them out and style them with the items in my closet! They're from a brand called Sam and Libby, a line of shoes, bags, and jewelry! I think the reason why they have been gathering dust for so long is because I couldn't find a way to style it.  But now, I have put together a few items from my closet that would go with the shoes. Styling them was a little hard, but there's never a time where I'm not up for a challenge in fashion:

Boho

Dress: made, vest: made, necklace, earrings: gift, bag: gift

Casual Street Style

Top: American Eagle Outfitters, skirt: made, clutch: gift, bangles: gift

 Simple but Preppy

Top: Forever 21, pants: H&M, bag: gift, bracelets: gift

These are some of the ways I would style these shoes. Now I have a game plan for wearing these shoes, so I'll start wearing them soon!
